A purrfect place to window shop

Pawfiteroles anyone? Pupcakes? Or maybe some chocolate e-claws?

This might look like your average bakery, but it's actually the posh pet department at Harrods in London where all the tasty treats are for pampered pets rather than people.

Not only can you buy handmade treats and birthday cakes at the doggie bakehouse (or cookbooks so you can bake your own), but there's also a selection of decorative and diamante encrusted collars from £180 or doggie costumes that cost as much as £269 -- there's even some leather lounges designed especially for your pet.

But the treats in Harrods aren't only for pets -- humans can enjoy yummy cakes and shots of hot chocolate at the Chocolate Bar.

Working in the pet department or the chocolate cafe would definitely be a lot of fun.  But surely the dream job for many would be working in Harrods' toy department.

Here staff spend their days playing with upmarket toys -- think masses of fake snow, giant soft toys worth £1000 each, £10,000 go-karts for kids and even diamond-encrusted cars.  Not a bad gig really...

  1. Ella has a teddy bear from Harrods - I'd hate to think what it's worth!

  2. actually Kerryn most of them weren't too bad -- you could buy a decent-sized ``Harrods'' bear for around 20 pounds. It was just the massive ones that had the ridiculous price tags attached. They had some great stuff, Ella would love the toy department :)
